Since the time of my Boochever fellowship, Nancy Lord has published three books of literary nonfiction–Beluga Days (2004), Rock Water Wild (2009), and Early Warming (2011.) She was also selected as the Alaska Writer Laureate from 2008-10 and enjoyed the opportunity to promote Alaska writing and writers throughout the state and attend a national gathering of state laureates. Nancy is currently working on a novel that’s grown out of her interests in marine issues, and she teaches part-time both for the Kachemak Bay Branch of UAA and in UAA’s graduate writing program.
