Austin Parkhill is a professional artist living and working in Homer, Alaska. Often described as a “hyperrealist” painter, Parkhill has exhibited his artwork from the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery (Washington D.C.) to New York City, and maintains gallery representation in Denver, CO. His massive portrait work intrigues with its sincere expression and formidable presence, while the artist’s growing MEGAfauna series considers the coexistence of the wildlife and people of the Arctic in a contemporary fashion by the use of oversized fauna in village scenes. Parkhill has spent the last four years living in the Arctic (Barrow, AK) where unique experiences have influenced his work.
