Rich Chiappone

​​​​​​ Richard Chiappone is the author of the novel The Hunger of Crows, and three collections of short prose stories: Water of an undetermined Depth, Opening Days, and Liar’s Code. His fiction and nonfiction has appeared in numerous national publications including Alaska Magazine, Anchorage Press, Gray’s sporting Journal, Playboy, the Sun, and others; and in literary magazines including Catamaran Literary Reader, Crescent Review, Missouri Review, Fiction Southeast, ZYZZYVA and many others. His stories have been made into a film and performed on BBC Radio.

Chiappone has a Masters of Fine Arts degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage, has served as a senior associate editor at Alaska Quarterly Review, and has been a long time organizer of the Kachemak Bay Writers Conference. He currently teaches in the MFA Low Residency program at UAA, and lives in Homer, Alaska with his wife.
