Laureli Ivanoff

Laureli Ivanoff is a writer living in her hometown of Unalakleet, Alaska. She writes of Inuit culture in relation to climate change, history, policy and social justice. A former radio reporter, Laureli is passionate about Alaska journalism and inclusion of Indigenous perspective, experience and voice. Laureli has received honors for her writing and radio work including the Alaska Governor’s Arts & Humanities Award for Distinguished Service in Leadership; the Alaska Press Club Award in the Best Column category; plus many honors in radio broadcasting. She lives to go ugruk hunting in the spring, cut salmon in the summer, pick berries in the fall and ice fish in winter. Laureli believes the land is sovereign and thanks settlers for bringing coffee.
