Ken DeRoux currently lives and paints in Burien, WA, just south of Seattle. After retiring from the Alaska State Museum in 2006, he and his wife, Sybil, spent two years traveling and living in Istanbul and in southern France. In 2009, they settled in Burien, and after the usual repairs, remodeling and adjustments Ken is back to painting, and doing some photo and video work as well. He has been working on a series of pieces about visiting the art psychiatrist, as well as exploring another new direction, about which it is too early to speak. He and Sybil try to get back to Alaska every year to see friends and family.
